Common Questions
These answers explain our ministry, statement of faith, nonprofit structure, pastoral care boundaries, pricing, and support options.
Q1What is Mission Gadarenes Ministries?
Mission Gadarenes Ministries is a nonprofit, Christ-centered ministry devoted to prayer, deliverance, inner healing, discipleship, spiritual growth, and pastoral care. Our heart is to help people connect with God, find freedom, and grow in faith through prayer, teaching, community, and pastoral support.
Q2What does Mission Gadarenes Ministries believe?
We are a Christian organization. We believe in:
- Sola Scriptura — Scripture is our final authority (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
- Jesus Christ is Lord — fully God, fully man, and Savior of the world (John 1:1; John 14:6; Romans 10:9).
- Salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9).
- The power and presence of the Holy Spirit — who transforms, sanctifies, empowers, and distributes spiritual gifts (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11).
- The Great Commission — to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18–20).
- Spiritual freedom, healing, and deliverance through the finished work of Jesus Christ (Luke 4:18; Mark 16:17).
Our ministry is built on Scripture, prayer, compassion, and the belief that Jesus still saves, heals, restores, and delivers today.
Q3Who leads Mission Gadarenes Ministries? What are the pastor’s credentials?
Mission Gadarenes Ministries is led by Pastor Cathiana Brantley, a seminary-trained pastor who attended Andrews University Theological Seminary and holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM). She serves through Christ-centered preaching, biblical teaching, pastoral care, discipleship, deliverance prayer, spiritual support, and emotional-healing ministry.
Background & training includes:
- Registered Nurse (RN, BSN) with clinical, leadership, and nursing education experience.
- Nursing professor with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping people grow with clarity and confidence.
- Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM) and seminary training through Andrews University Theological Seminary.
- Training and experience in pastoral care, discipleship, biblical counseling, spiritual formation, ministry leadership, and Christ-centered preaching.
- Experience in prayer ministry, deliverance, Bible teaching, emotional healing, spiritual coaching, and helping believers understand identity, authority, spiritual gifts, and purpose.
- Currently pursuing nurse practitioner education through South University Online, with an anticipated graduation year of 2027.
Pastor Cathiana’s long-term professional vision includes eventually pursuing psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner preparation so her healthcare background can more fully complement the ministry’s work at the intersection of mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. That is a future goal rather than a current credential, and Mission Gadarenes remains clear that its present offerings are pastoral and spiritual in nature, not clinical mental-health treatment.
Q4Is Mission Gadarenes Ministries a legitimate nonprofit?
Yes. Mission Gadarenes Ministries, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The ministry has:
- A board of directors.
- Approved bylaws.
- Required IRS filings.
- Established nonprofit governance and accountability.
All ministry funds go directly to the nonprofit ministry, not to an individual.
Q5What kinds of services do you offer — and which are free?
Free services may include:
- Deliverance and inner-healing prayer sessions, when available.
- Prayer requests.
- Prayer line access.
- Digital resources such as Scripture guides, devotionals, and ministry resources.
- General ministry support, encouragement, and community.
Services with a small fee may include:
- Pastoral or spiritual counseling sessions.
- Discipleship community membership.
- Online courses and teaching materials.
This mix allows us to serve people in need regardless of financial status while also sustaining the ministry long-term.
Q6Why do some things cost a fee? Isn’t ministry supposed to be free?
We believe in offering as much spiritual care as we can free of charge, because the gospel is grace and many core ministry services remain free. However, like most ministries, we need resources to cover operational costs such as counseling time, teaching preparation, website hosting, ministry materials, administration, and outreach. Modest fees help fund the mission and allow us to continue offering free prayer, inner healing, deliverance, and community support. We keep pricing as low and accessible as possible because we value heart over profit.
Q7Are you a licensed therapist or mental-health provider?
No. Mission Gadarenes Ministries is a religious ministry offering pastoral and spiritual care, not clinical therapy.
- Our counseling is spiritual, Scripture-based, and pastoral.
- We do not diagnose or treat mental illness.
- We do not claim to be licensed counselors, psychologists, or therapists.
If during a session we believe someone needs professional mental-health support, such as a therapist, psychiatrist, or crisis intervention, we will lovingly encourage and refer them to licensed professionals.
Important: If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, please call 911, 988, or your local emergency service right away.
Q8What happens if I can’t afford the fee?
We understand. God’s love and care are not tied to your ability to pay. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out. We may offer sliding scale, reduced-fee, or sponsored sessions depending on need and capacity. Our heart is to remove barriers whenever possible while stewarding the ministry responsibly.
Q9How are my payments used?
All fees go directly into the ministry’s nonprofit account. They are used to cover:
- Operational expenses such as website, hosting, materials, and administrative costs.
- Time and resources for counseling and teaching.
- Outreach, prayer line support, and ministry growth.
- Providing free services for those who cannot pay.
We are committed to transparency regarding finances. If you would like more information, we are happy to share a general overview.
Q10What if I want to support the ministry but don’t need services?
We welcome and appreciate partnership in many forms:
- Become a monthly mission partner. Even $5–$10 helps.
- Sponsor another person’s counseling session or course.
- Volunteer through prayer support, outreach, encouragement, or community building.
- Pray for the ministry, leadership, and the people we serve.
Every gift of time, talent, prayer, or financial support helps extend God’s love to more people.
Q11What is the difference between deliverance/inner healing, spiritual counseling, and discipleship?
- Deliverance and inner-healing prayer: Prayer ministry focused on spiritual healing, freedom, and restoration. These may be shorter sessions, group-based, or one-time opportunities.
- Spiritual or pastoral counseling: Private, more in-depth sessions for guidance, discipleship, spiritual growth, and support, similar to a pastor’s office ministry.
- Courses, discipleship, or membership: Structured teaching, group community, discipleship curriculum, and extended growth support over time.
Each serves a different need: healing and freedom, personal pastoral care, or ongoing discipleship and growth.
Q12Is there a refund or cancellation policy?
- Counseling sessions: If you cancel at least 24 hours ahead, you may be eligible for a full refund or reschedule unless otherwise arranged.
- Courses and memberships: Please review the product description. Generally, once material is accessed, refunds may not be available, but credit toward another offering may be considered when appropriate.
- Sliding-scale or sponsored sessions: These are handled case by case. Please reach out if finances are an issue.
Q13Who is eligible to receive ministry from Mission Gadarenes?
Everyone is welcome regardless of background, spiritual history, financial status, or church affiliation. Our mission is to reach and support anyone longing for spiritual healing, prayer, discipleship, pastoral care, or deeper connection with God.
Mission Gadarenes Ministries vs. Mission Gadarenes LLC
Because the names are similar, this distinction matters. The nonprofit ministry and the business arm are connected by calling, but they are not the same legal or financial entity.

Mission: To help people flourish spiritually and practically by offering Christ-centered coaching, consulting, and pastoral support that strengthens purpose, leadership, healing, and faithful next steps.
How the two work together
Think of the two as two separate lanes under one broader calling. The nonprofit ministry focuses on freedom, healing, discipleship, deliverance, spiritual growth, and pastoral care. The LLC/business arm focuses on coaching, consulting, pastoral counseling, leadership, business development, professional growth, and practical strategy for people who are ready to walk out what God placed in them.
The ministry helps people get free. The business arm helps people heal, build, lead, grow, and flourish in their God-given purpose through focused coaching, consulting, and pastoral support.
They are legally, financially, and structurally separate — but spiritually complementary.
